On behalf of the entire Milan team, we would like to extend a warm welcome to you and hope that you cherish each and every moment of your stay at the scenic campus of SRM Kattankulathur. We at the Hospitality team shall leave no stone unturned to ensure that your stay with us is enjoyable and comfortable. In order to enable us to assist you in the best possible manner, we would request you to register yourself and other members of your team in the hospitality portal.

Overview:

Hospitality in Milan will be divided into 5 committees as is usual, namely:

  • Accommodation
  • Help Desk
  • Guest Handling


Getting to the College:

Our campus is well connected with the city through local train and bus services.

  • From Chennai Central Railway Station: Those who are coming from other states of India by train, should get down at the Chennai Central Railway Station, come out and use the pedestrian subway to reach PARK suburban railway station. Two destination trains are available from Park suburban railway station to (i) Tambaram (ii) Chengalpattu.
  • If take the train to Chengalpattu, you can disembark at the Potheri railway station. The campus is located just opposite to the mentioned station.
  • From Tambaram: If you take the train to Tambaram, get down at Tambaram and reach the local bus stand there. Take T60 or T60 LSS or M500 bus and get down at SRM or Potheri bus stop. It is a 20 minute travel from Tambaram bus stand to SRM University. Total Travel time from Chennai Central Railway Station will be around One Hour. Our volunteers will be present at Chennai Central Railway station to guide you to the college.
  • By Bus: Our volunteers present at CMBT (Koyambedu Bus Terminus) will be there to guide you to the college.
  • By Air: The nearest railway station from the Chennai Airport is Tirusulam, located just opposite the Airport. Get into a train going to Tambaram or Chengalpattu and follow the instructions given above.



# Transportation will be provided to all the participants reaching Chennai-CMBT/Central railway station at regular intervals from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm (from 28th January to 31st January).

Post Arrival:

  • Upon arrival, participants have to register themselves for Milan’12 at the common registration desks. They will then receive their Participant ID cards. Unregistered people will not be allowed to participate in any event of Milan’12. At the time of registration, participants should show their college ID-cards.
  • Reservation for accommodation can be done online.



Availing Accommodation:

Please go through the following info:

• To Register:

• Participants should register for accommodation online but please note that registering online does not confirm your accommodation on campus. Your accommodation will be confirmed only if you receive the confirmation mail and letter from the Hospitality or the Accommodation team.
• The letter of confirmation should be produced on request at all times during the time of stay.
• Accommodation will be confirmed well in advance to all the participants or their team leaders willing to avail accommodation on campus.
• For students participating in the group events, each te4am member should register online to avail the accommodation.

• Payment:

• An amount of Rs.100/- per person per day excluding food charges.
• Accommodation will be provided from 27th January’12, 6:00 pm to 31st January’12, 12:00 pm.

• On reaching SRM:


• Accommodation will be provided on first come first serve basis.
• Once participant/s reaches SRM, they need to come to the Accommodation Desk, MILAN, along with their college identity card and confirmation letter. You will be allotted your place of stay on campus, along with your registration booklet.
• Accommodation would be strictly on shared basis.
• Request for individual rooms during allotment and complaints in this regard will not be entertained.
• Each college should appoint a Team Leader among themselves and only the team leader should contact the Hospitality team for the accommodation.
• Please note that you will have to share the accommodation facility with other participants from other colleges.
• For any further clarification, you can contact the Hospitality or the Accommodation team. • Items to carry:

• Lock & key (for your luggage), blankets, bed sheets will not be provided. Participants are requested to bring them along if necessary.
• Participants have to bring their college I.D card along with Bonafide certificates compulsorily. Without these, even if they possess the Milan ID Card, they’ll not be allowed to participate in any of the events so accommodation will not be provided.
• Participants are requested to carry their Milan’12 participant ID card always and produce it on demand.

• Items provided:

º Accommodation will be provided to boys and girls in well secured separate residential blocks on the campus of SRM University.
º Beddings, bed cover, pillows and pillow covers will be provided.
• Do’s & Don’ts:


• Consumption of alcohol, narcotics, smoking in the University premises is strictly prohibited.
• Any kind of misbehavior during the fest will lead to severe action.
• We are not responsible for any loss of valuables, luggage or any other belongings of the participants.
• Any damage to the University property will be fined accordingly.
• Illegal activities are strictly prohibited in campus. Miscreants will be expelled from the campus and will not be allowed to participate in any further activities of the fest.
• In case of any disputes, decision of the Hospitality team would be final.
